Arsen Avakov held a working meeting with US Assistant Secretary of State Kirsten Madison
19 October 2018On October 19, 2018, the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov met with Kirsten Madison, the US Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs.
“The USA is a reliable partner of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the development of the law enforcement system. We fruitfully cooperate in all areas of our work. The National Guard of Ukraine conducts joint exercises with the California National Guard, in particular, on countering chemical and nuclear threats. American experts help to train patrol policemen and CORD special police units”, – noted Arsen Avakov.
The parties discussed cooperation projects and plans for cooperation in law enforcement, in particular, in the field of countering cybercrime.
“We are interested in the experience of the United States in the fight against corruption and economic crime and in the implementation of the equal opportunities policy in law enforcement. And also in counteracting illicit drug trafficking”, – added the Minister of Internal Affairs.
The US Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Kirsten Madison noted the success of reforming the system of internal affairs bodies of Ukraine and assured of further support from the American side.
